Nestled in an authentic neighborhood on Rome’s Janiculum Hill, the Centro offers students spaces where they feel at home while relaxing in a beautiful garden, tucking into homemade Italian meals, and – of course – living, learning, and joking with their fellow Centristi.
Sundays are like mini-holidays in Italy, and on this one Centristi celebrate the day by cracking open a gift and cooking up a storm in the outdoor kitchen.
The Centro stands atop Rome’s balcony, the Janiculum Hill, which features the best view of the city. A short walk leads to the perfect spot to grab a drink, hang with friends, and enjoy Rome’s fabled “golden hour.”
A celebratory banquet marks the beginning and end of every Centro semester. Spring 2023 Centristi enjoyed raising a glass, toasting their professors, grabbing some swag, and gobbling down one final delicious Centro meal together before heading their separate ways.
Every semester, in addition to dozens of outings in and around Rome, the Centro undertakes several longer trips. In 2024-2025, Centristi will cross the Adriatic to explore ancient Dalmatia and modern day Croatia, which hosts some of the Roman world’s most stunning archaeology, before returning to Rome via the critical Late Antique cities of Aquileia and Ravenna.
